     Over the years I’ve heard a lot of good sermons about this foot washing story in John. But, there’s one thing that preachers tend to do when they speak on this passage that bugs me a little. They dramatize it. Specifically, they love to talk about how gross the disciples’ feet would have been. You know, they’ve been walking on dusty roads in sandals, following Jesus, etc, etc… And Jesus loved them sooo much that he was willing to touch their dirty feet.
